“Rt. Hon. Dr. Hage Geingob

President-elect of the Republic of Namibia

Windhoek

2 December 2014

Beijing

Right Honorable,

Glad upon hearing that you have become President-elect of the Republic of Namibia, I would like to extend to Right Honorable, on behalf of the Chinese Government and people as well as in my own name, my sincere congratulations and best wishes.

Since independence, Namibia has achieved social stability, economic development and constantly growing regional influence under the leadership of the SWAPO Party. Your overwhelming victory in the Presidential election reflects the trust and support in you of the Namibian people. I believe that under the strong leadership of Right Honorable and the SWAPO Party, the Namibian people will make greater achievements in national construction.

Namibia is China’s all-weather friend in Africa. The two sides have conducted long-time and fruitful exchanges and cooperation in various fields. During your visit to China in April this year, we had a deep discussion on comprehensively developing China-Namibia relations, and reached broad consensus. I attach great importance to the development of our bilateral relations, and wish to work together with you to promote the standing friendly relations to a higher level.

Wish you greater success in fulfilling this noble duty.

Xi Jingping

PRESIDENT

People’s Republic of China”
