93 years ago in the city of Nanchang, a new people's army was founded by the Communist Party of China(CPC). Ever since, the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) has been bravely fighting for liberation and happiness of the Chinese people, striving for independence and rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. In the past 93 years, the PLA has performed great historic feats to defend the dignity and security of China, and to promote regional stability and world peace.
The PLA's 93 years of development is a history of following CPC's commands, winning all battles, and conducting well in discipline.Pursuing a national defence policy defensive in nature, China will never seek hegemony, never seek expansion, never seek spheres of influence. The PLA will resolutely safeguard China's sovereignty, security and development interests, will implement the Military Strategic Guideline for a new era, will build a fortified national defence and a strong military commensurate with the country's international standing and security interests. China values peace as much as treasures reunification. China must be and will be reunited. The PLA will never allow the secession of any part of our territory by anyone, any organization or any political party by any means at any time. The PLA will resolutely defeat anyone attempting to separate Taiwan from China and safeguard national unity at all costs.
The PLA's 93 years of development is a history of serving the people wholeheartedly. Since the first COVID-19 cases were reported, the PLA mobilized instantly and took the heaviest task of combating the epidemic.Within over 80 days from January 24 till April 16, the PLA sent more than 4000 healthcare troops to Hubei province, setting up 2856 medical beds, treating 7198 patients, successfully curing 346 patients aged 80 years and over.Hailed as true heroes in harm's way, the PLA fought and won the unconventional battle against the COVID-19 epidemic with zero infection.
The PLA's 93 years of development is a history of cooperation and teamwork globally. Blocking the COVID-19 is a war without smoke and saving lives across boundaries is of paramount importance. The PLA sent medical expert teams to 4 countries like Laos and Cambodia, transported through PLA aircraft medical equipment and materials to more than 20 countries such as Pakistan, Russia and Thailand, held teleconferences to share Chinese military's engagement and experience in combating COVID-19 with over 10 foreign armies such as South Africa and Russia.At this moment of pandemic crisis, the PLA's quick response helped the world in building lines of defence against COVID-19, fully reflecting a shared destiny with boundless love.
Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed that the global response to COVID-19 has made it clear that mankind rise and fall together in a community with a shared future. The PLA, with the overall arrangements of the Chinese government, keep providing the Namibian Defence Force with assistance within our reach; the NDF medical experts were invited to join the teleconferences with Chinese healthcare teams; medical materials including multi-functional body temperature detector and facial masks, were donated to the NDF. The PLA will keep enhancing anti-pandemic cooperation with armed forces of all countries including Namibia, keep contributing Chinese Wisdom and Chinese Power to the international community for pandemic control. Let cooperation dispel dark clouds of COVID-19,and homestead of mankind can be safeguarded through international solidarity.
