On February 29, 2024，Ambassador Zhao Weiping paid a courtesy call on Hon. John Mutorwa, the new Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Namibia, and both sides exchanged views on strengthening China-Namibia cooperation.

   Amb. Zhao said that the prospects for China-Namibia trade and economic cooperation are very broad. The Chinese side cherishes the traditional friendship between the two countries and attaches great importance to constantly pushing forward the progress in China-Namibia relations. 

   Hon. Mutorwa expressed his thanks to President Xi Jinping for sending his special envoy to Namibia for the state funeral of the late President Geingob, and looked forward to further strengthening cooperation with China in infrastructure building and other areas.
