Chargé d'Affaires ad interim of the Chinese Embassy in Namibia Attended the Signing Ceremony of Handover and Takeover Certificate for the China-Aid Schools Reconstruction and Expansion

On March 6, the signing ceremony of the inter-governmental handover and takeover certificate for the China-aid schools reconstruction and expansion project was held in Windhoek. Mr. Shen Jian, Chargé d'Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Namibia and Hon. Anna Nghipondoka, Minister of Education, Arts and Culture of the Republic of Namibia jointly signed the certificate. Counselor Wei Jinming and other diplomats of the Chinese Embassy also participated in the ceremony.

Mr. Shen said that the Namibian schools reconstruction and expansion project aided by China is one of China's measures to actively promote the implementation of the "Poverty Reduction and People's Welfare Plan" of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, and it is also the latest illustration of the traditional friendship between China and Namibia. China attaches great importance to developing the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries and stands ready to push for constant progress of the friendly exchanges and cooperation in the area of education.

Hon. Nghipondoka expressed her thanks to China for its selfless help to Namibia, and said that the successful delivery of the schools reconstruction and expansion project to Namibia is a new milestone in the educational cooperation between the two countries. She looked forward to further strengthening cooperation with China in this field for helping Namibia improve the quality of national education.
