On September 20, 2024, Ambassador Zhao Weiping had an interview with NBC and answered questions about the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and China-Namibia relations.
Ambassador Zhao touched on the "Ten Partnership Actions" for China and Africa to jointly advance modernization and the major measures supporting China-Africa cooperation announced by President Xi Jinping at the summit, and pointed out that the summit sent a clear message that China and Africa will join hands in achieving modernization and China will provide strong support for Africa's modernization. Ambassador Zhao said the summit also demonstrated China-Africa solidarity and their determination to build an All-Weather China-Africa Community with a Shared Future for the New Era, and the summit will have great significance for promoting the development of China-Africa relations.
Ambassador Zhao emphasized that during the summit, President Xi Jinping and President Mbumba had a successful bilateral meeting, reaching important consensus on advancing the China-Namibia Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership. Ambassador Zhao believed that China-Namibia friendship and practical cooperation will continue to deepen, which will bring even greater benefits to the people of both countries.
