On October 28 and 29, Chinese Ambassador to Namibia, Zhao Weiping attended the handover ceremony of China-aided four schools in Kavango West Region and Zambezi Region respectively in Namibia. More than 600 people attended the ceremony, including the Chairperson of the Namibian National Council, Hon. Lukas Sinimbo Muha, the Minister of Education, Arts and Culture, Hon. Anna Nghipondoka, and other government officials as well as representatives of teachers, students and parents.
In his remarks, Ambassador Zhao said that China has always been keen to support Namibia’s social and economic development. The China-aided four schools are the new symbols of China-Namibian friendship. China-Namibia relations will achieve even greater development in the years ahead and bring more tangible benefits to our two peoples.
Namibian dignitaries thanked China in their speeches for China’s selfless assistance, saying that China-aided four schools project reflects the spirit of Namibia-China friendship and South-South cooperation, greatly alleviates the difficulties of local children in going to school, and has made positive contributions to promoting education and improving people's livelihood in Namibia.
