On March 19, the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Namibia held a handover ceremony for China's Emergency Food Donation to Namibia. Ambassador Zhao Weiping and Namibian Deputy Prime Minister Mutorwa jointly signed the handover certificate.
Ambassador Zhao Weiping said that China and Namibia are good friends who have always supported and helped each other, and this has become a fine tradition. He was glad that the first batch of emergency food donation provided by China has arrived in Namibia and has been distributed to the people in need. He also noted that the new batch of emergency food donation announced by President Xi Jinping at the Beijing Summit of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum will arrive soon. Additionally, China will further deepen agricultural cooperation with Namibia and help enhance its ability of drought relief.
Deputy Prime Minister Mutorwa thanked the Chinese Government for the emergency food donation, and said that this donation has timely alleviated Namibia's current food crisis and fully demonstrates the deep friendship between the two countries. He also expected that both sides will strengthen cooperation in more areas in the future.
