On May 12, Ambassador Zhao Weiping paid a courtesy call on Her Excellency Lucia Witbooi, Vice President of the Republic of Namibia.

Ambassador Zhao once again congratulated Vice President Lucia Witbooi on her assumption of office, and expressed gratitude for her contributions to China-Namibia relations over the years. Ambassador Zhao said there is great potential for the development of the bilateral relations, and the Chinese side is ready to work with Namibia to actively implement the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and promote further development of China-Namibia relations.

Vice President Lucia Witbooi expressed her appreciation to Chinese Vice President Han Zheng for extending congratulations shortly after her appointment, and said she is willing to advance bilateral relations based on the traditional friendship between Namibia and China.
