Second Send-off Party for Namibian Students to Study Medicine in China

(Windhoek, 14 October 2011) The second send-off party of Namibian-Chinese Loving Heart Organization (NCLHO) Scholarship Program for another nine Namibian students to study medicine in Nantong University, China was held at Safari Conference Centre on 14 October 2011. Jack Huang, Chairman of NCLHO, representatives from Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health and Social Services of Namibia, Chairperson of Namibian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, members of the media, entrepreneurs as well as students and their parents or guardians.

Jack Huang, Chairman of NCLHO introduced that NCLHO was established by the Chinese community in Namibia in 2007. It aims to assist the vulnerable groups in Namibia through financial and material support, improving their living standards, making contributions to economic and social development of local society. The NCLHO Scholarship Program was launched in 2010 and provided scholarships for six Namibian students to study clinical medicine for six years at Nantong University in China. The number of beneficiaries this year has increased to eight. It is expected that the students return to serve Namibia after they complete their study in China.
