Namibian PM hails win-win cooperation with China
2012-04-03 22:18

Namibian Prime Minister Nahas Angula says his country is happy with win-win cooperation with China.

The prime minister made the remarks during a courtesy call by visiting Chinese Vice Premier Hui Liangyu on Tuesday.

"We are happy to be in collaboration with our friends to promote economic cooperation through investment, trade and through technology-sharing," he said.

"In this way, we create the win-win situation, and I hope therefore that your visit will strengthen this aspect of our relationship," said Angula.

He added that the nation is happy that there are many Chinese companies operating in Namibia, especially in the sector of mineral exploration.

Angula then urged the Chinese companies to conduct their businesses by adding value to "our resources, so that we create high value and create employment for our people."

Hui said China and Namibia are good friends and partners with new achievements and progress made in cooperation in education, culture and technology and in youth exchange between the two countries over the past years.

He said China will make joint efforts with Namibia to ensure the projects under construction a success, to quicken investment steps in the southern African country and to expand cooperation in agriculture in a bid to further the win-win situation between the two countries.

Hui and his delegation paid a three-day official visit to Namibia and left for Zimbabwe on Wednesday.

Visiting Chinese Vice Premier Hui Liangyu (L) shakes hands with Namibian Prime Minister Nahas Angula in Windhoek, Namibia, on April 3, 2012.
