On April 18, the Chinese Embassy in Namibia, led by Ambassador Zhao Weiping and his wife, participated in the Diplomatic Charity Bazaar 2026 hosted by the Association of Diplomatic Spouses at the Windhoek International School.

The Embassy contributed to this annual event by setting up a booth selling charity goods, which has become most eye catching of the day. Commodities with peculiar Chinese features such as silk scarves and paper-cut artworks were so popular that they were soon “snapped up” by the enthusiastic buyers. Delicious Chinese food like the Chinese-style fried chicken and noodles were equally attractive to friends who rushed for “a bite of China”. The Embassy staff acting as temporary vendors, especially the ladies of the Embassy dressed in traditional Chinese costumes, formed a shining part of the beautiful scene and impressed all the visitors like instantly-made professional traders. They were not only vigorously promoting the goods, but also telling the related China stories in great warmth which made the sales more interesting and attracted big admiration for Chinese products, cuisine and culture.

The Embassy also organized a big team to participate in the flag parade during the event and presented meticulously rehearsed dragon and lion dance performances which also won wide acclaim from the crowd.
