On August 6, Chinese Ambassador Zhao Weiping and Governor of Khomas Region Hon. Sam Shafiishuna Nujoma together attended the handover ceremony of donation to the Donkerhoek Community in Windhoek, Khomas Region, where Ambassador Zhao donated food packages and blankets to the elders and families of the community on behalf of Chinese Embassy.

In his remarks, Ambassador Zhao said that China and Namibia enjoy long-standing friendship, and the above donation was made in response to Governor Nujoma’s call to bring warmth to the local people in need. Ambassador Zhao also said that H.E. President Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah’s state visit to China last month was very successful, and he believed that the development of China-Namibia relations will bring greater benefits to the people of the two countries.

Governor Nujoma and representatives of the Donkerhoek Community thanked the Embassy for its donation, and Governor Nujoma stated that Chinese Embassy has not only provided support to the Donkerhoek Community, but also made other donations to Khomas Region, such as tuition sponsorships for students in need. He also emphasized that China is a true friend of Namibia.
